If you haven’t tried bulletproof coffee yet, you are missing out. It’s a creamy, delicious, breakfast replacement morning delight, great to keep you in the fat-burning zone until lunch.
My typical bulletproof coffee recipe is as follows:
- 20 oz brewed coffee (or matcha!)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp coconut milk
- 2 tsp xylitol
- sometimes I’ll add 1 tsp vanilla
- blend for 10 seconds and enjoy
But once in a while, a great idea comes along that you just have to try…
Ingredient #1: Cinnamon
I don’t mean a little cinnamon sprinkled on top. I mean a solid 1/2 teaspoon added in with the coffee grounds to be brewed. It leaves the finished product with that great cinnamon aroma, without the sludgy bits on top.
Ingredient #2: Hemp seed
Hemp seed is high in omega-3 fatty acids and protein, low in carbs, and decreases the hunger hormone ghrelin. Add 1 tbsp to your coffee and blend on a higher speed than usual for bulletproof coffee to break up the seeds.
It seems like a weird thing to blend into your coffee but it makes it even creamier and noticeably more satiating. Sure there will be about a cm of hemp seed bits at the bottom of your mug when you are done but I just drink that too!
